Designing for well-being is where the physical, psychological, social and ecological meet to focus on wellness happiness, and longevity in the spaces and communities we live, work and play in.
My interior design training, holistic studies and life experiences, allow me to recognizes the person as a whole, taking into consideration every single aspect of the human composition. I take the whole person into consideration and work with them from the INSIDE + OUT.
I design with a simpler, more immediate, intimate and people-centric view, with a focus on your well-being and lifestyle. My goal is to work with you, so your physical environment has the potential to transform the quality of your life and enhance the richness of the spaces you spend your time in.
How do Interior Design & Well-being relate to each other?
Healthy interiors are as just as essential to us as a nutritious diet and physical exercise.
The state of our well-being is influenced by the spaces we use. A well thought out interior that supports the person on every level, can significantly impact a person's feelings, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually.
Incorporating natural elements to support well-being
The built environments of the past were not planned with well-being or demanding lifestyle in mind. Not only do the designs of the past fail to support current life demands, they also contribute to the overwhelming emotional and physical dis-ease with which our current society is fraught.
My team and I, design mindful interiors that support your well-being by incorporating design elements that help to reduce stress, improve sleep, and accommodate busy lifestyles.
Connection is key in any relationship.
As a Well-being designer, it is my honour to begin our relationship with a introductory FREE one-hour consultation to acknowledge you and your project on a holistic level,
MIND - BODY - SOUL.
An additional consultation fee may be used if you require a colour consultation, space planning, lighting or material selections.
My consultation fee for this is $300 for 3 hours and $110.00 for every hour thereafter.
The most exciting step of the design experience revolves around getting to know you and exploring your tastes: discovering what you like, what inspires you, both for who you are now, and how you want your surroundings to encourage you and your
I love this tuning into your aesthetic flow - your personal design station. I dig deep and really get a feel for what speaks to you, what inspires you and what you want in your space. We discuss your current space, and your vision, and ways to harmonize the old and the new.
I collected your inspirations, direction, lifestyle choices, needs, wants, photographs, room dimensions, and all the other relevant details to begin creating your space.

We have spent time CONNECTING, I've gotten to know you, we have exchanged several conversations , and we've spent a great deal of time being inspired together. Once I am finished CREATING your space, comes the time for big REVEAL!
I schedule a meeting(s) via Zoom and present you with two different design options accompanied with any necessary construction drawings, 3D renderings, fabric and finish samples, mood boards, and shopping lists.
Each design option is assembled in its own file for you to experience the elements of nature, colours, shapes, weights, and textures together and on their own.
Based on 24 years of design experience, I can confidently say, my clients always have a clear and immediate stand out option.
Now it time for you to decide which option to choose!
I have spent several years listening, watching, and weighing in on every aspect and its influence on a clients decision making.
For some clients, design decisions can be emotional, as these decisions not only represents money, these decisions represent CHANGE, both of which may be stressful. So,I keep an eye on how many decisions you will be making in any one meeting.
Expect that if you don’t make decisions in a timely manner, it may cost you more. There are a number of factors that contribute to the overall cost of a project. This phase is a place where we can move fairly quickly, or we can get stuck.
TRUST & LET GO
Expect to be called to let go of control and trust me as your designer. This is not the last time that you as the client will weigh in on decisions, or that me as the designer will make suggestions.
This is the RELAX...hurry up and wait stage!
Soulful, hand crafted and sustainable products and fine furnishings take time to make and deliver, then there is time for them to be shipped and installed. This is what comes of wanting high-end, bespoke, artisanal. Pieces that show the hand of the maker, because they are made by human hands, artisans who spent years learning craft. This is why the product is so soulful in the end. You can’t rush heart.
Expect timelines to be estimates.
Contractors and vendors also will have a timeline, and that timeline may stretch, due to their own suppliers, and/or the fact that they, and all of the vendors on your project, have other clients and projects they are serving.
In an ideal world, a single room can take about 4-to-5 months to design and execute. If you are embarking on whole house, you would expect it to be a more lengthy process. Not just because there are more rooms to deal with, but also, in design, we really have to consider how every decision impacts the next. So, in a whole house design, there are more moving parts, more ways that each element plays within the whole.
Expect things to go right—and trust us to fix it if they don’t.
There is no better salve for a project, than a client’s ability to trust us to do our jobs (trust is a theme that recurs, in this process). That means allowing us the space to take care what comes up, so that we can quickly move through it, and make it right.
Once your items have arrived, we’ll provide a remote staging consultation so everything is arranged just the way you like it!
This is it! The grand finale — the moment we are always
Expect to feel all the feels. You might have a wide range of emotional responses, from utter joy, to the possibility that you may be uncomfortable — initially.
Many of my clients are simply excited and thrilled by change, however if you are the sort of person who has trouble getting used to alterations to your environment, there’s a chance you might need time to adapt to what I’ve created. I suggest, before you decide how you feel, give the new design 21 days.
The brain settles in that time, lets go of the idea of what used to be there, and opens up to the newness. The old is comfortable, comforting.
But if you wanted to stay in that place, you wouldn’t have hired a designer. In the end, we designers are creating beauty and magic, just for you.
I like to start every project with a consultation at a time that is convenient for you. During this initial meeting, I will discuss your interior design needs, tastes, style, likes, dislikes and the scope of the project. By the end of this meeting, I will recommend a plan that aligns with your design needs and budget. I will determine my level of involvement and how to proceed.
There are several fee schedule options after that, depending on the nature of your project and our level of involvement. I will work closely with you to determine the best fee plan for your needs. Included are some standard options for designHER Living.
This is a fee determined after evaluating your interior design needs, formulating a project plan and working with your budget. We will provide a flat rate fee for the services. Unless the scope of the project changes, I will not exceed that budget.

In this case, my fee is based on the commission of materials, services, furniture, or accessories purchased for the project. The percentage varies from 10-25% depending on designer discounts determined by suppliers and the scope of job.
A one-time fee may be used if you require a colour consultation, space planning for one room, lighting or materials selection. This method is common in new construction, or remodelling projects where the client needs design guidance. My consultation fee for this is $300 for 3 hours and $110.00 for every hour thereafter.
